Address: Zamkowa 1 , 66-200 Świebodzin
The history of this castle dates back to the fourteenth century. At that time it was probably a small wooden or partly brick stronghold. In the 15th century, the castle was temporarily ruled by the Brandenburg Joannites. During the Renaissance, the castle was expanded by adding two more wings. To this day, there is an older remnant of the south-east wing. The building was surrounded by a wall and a moat with a drawbridge from the city side. Crosses from cannonballs embedded in the castle facade are dated to the 17th century. In 1898, the city authorities transferred the building to the Boromeusz Sisters, who in the renovated part arranged a hospital, a Catholic school and a kindergarten. Since 1946, the castle and hospital complex has been used by the Sanatorium Rehabilitation and Orthopedics, which is well-known in the country.
