The Międzyrzecki Fortified Region - actually from the German Fortified Front of the Oder and Warta Arch (Festungsfront Oder-Warthe Bogen) - as one of the largest defense systems in Europe, with unique construction solutions and unique armor, is a perfect example of the German fortification art of the 1930s century. Now available to the public is the biggest tourist attraction of the Lubusz Land. Nowadays, dark MRU recesses have become an ideal place of refuge for bats who love the conditions in the underground of the system - constant temperature 8-10 degrees, constant humidity and darkness - every winter attracts about 30,000 of these "flying mice". It is due to the protection of bats sleeping through the winter that most of the underground tunnels are available to tourists only during the summer - from April to October. The underground, apart from small winged creatures, also contain a lot of secrets, largely explored by our guides. It is from them that we offer to learn more details of the amazing history of this virtually never used system.
