The Międzyrzecki Fortified Region (Festungsfront Oder-Warthe Bogen) is a powerful system of former German fortifications, built in the 1930s on the German-Polish border. It is located in the Odra and Warta bends and extends over a distance of about 100 km. The most important element of the fortifications is the system of underground tunnels built in the vicinity of Międzyrzecz, with a total length exceeding 30 km. The underground is part of the Museum of Fortifications and Bats in Pniew, at which a year-round tourist route is organized.
