A state cultural institution with the status of a national philharmonic, operating in Zielona Góra, since 1974 in cooperation with the Zielona Góra Symphony Orchestra, founded in 1956. Czesław Grabowski - composer and conductor is the artistic and program director. The philharmonic is named after the contemporary Polish composer Tadeusz Baird. It has two concert halls: the FZ hall with an auditorium for 200 people in the old building from 1900 and the MCM hall in the new building from 2004, the "East-West" International Music Center, for 400 people. The biggest annual artistic event organized by the Zielona Góra Philharmonic are the March "East - West" International Music Meetings, which take place in many cities on the Polish and German side of the border.
